So happy to have finally visited this restaurant after seeing it everytime we pass by the 60. Been coming here frequently because the ambience, service and food is great! Fun with big groups or even with a date. My husband and I love coming here when we can. It's better than the Irvine location! Some favorites are the pig ear salad, cucumber salad, lamb skewers, premium beef skewers, gizzard and grilled scallops (a must try!). They give you complimentary seasoned peanuts and they're actually really good! There's also different seasonings they give per person on your plate so it's fun to test out different flavors. The meats have a great charcoal taste to it and seasoned perfectly and to your liking for doneness. Such a fun concept. Love the fact you cook the skewers through charcoal and cool it down above with a diff drying rack. The Irvine location has everything precooked before they bring it out so you've been warned. It's not the same experience as the one in Rowland Heights. Have absolutely zero complaints. The wait does get long but expected from an establishment that does a great job at customer satisfaction.

Their menu is pretty massive with a lot of variety! Pricing is pretty fair for each of the items while the quantity and quality of the food is good. Service is pretty good as well and the inside is nice! The entrance is unique and you would not think that it's a restaurant at first hahah

Too bad I live in Orange County and rarely drive to Rowland Heights but I would definitely drive up for Gui BBQ. The meat skewers are so high quality and the side dishes are delicious as well. I've been here twice and I really enjoy the beef skewers and pork belly skewers. I'm not that fond of lamb but I've had some from my friends' order and they're actually pretty good. The side dishes I go for are the cabbage salad and cucumber salad. Both are so flavorful and are covered in a tangy dressing. The drink menu also has a lot of various options to choose from but I always go for soju (which they have alot of different flavors for). The prices are pretty reasonable too, can't wait to go back.

This restaurant is located on the second floor of the plaza, I highly recommend parking inside the parking garage on the third floor if you're not gonna go anywhere else in the plaza. The entrance to the restaurant was pretty cool w/ the wooden sliding door & being greeted by their interior sign & the cool Japanese sculpture inside. They have private rooms, booths & tables so it's accommodating to large parties. The food was okay. The cucumber salad didn't come w/ a spicy option so we put a bunch of the side spices on it & made it taste much better, the scallops were a little bland, the tendon texture was too gummy/jelly like & the 1000 year egg salad had too much sauce... BUT the chicken skin was so good & the rest of the skewers tasted really good! My personal favorite were the beef, lamb & chicken cartilage in that order The service wasn't up to par; which is why I had to knock a star off. It wasn't busy but they forgot to bring a dish we ordered & we had to try to get their attention for a few minutes before someone came to us.

More like 3.5, but I'll round up because it was a fun experience. When you enter the restaurant, there is a sliding door, so don't be alarmed when you walk in. I came around opening time on a weekday, and I was seated right away. For appetizers, I got the garlic pork belly, grilled oysters, and the jelly noodles. I did not like the jelly noodles, but I really liked the grilled oysters and garlic pork belly. For the skewers, I got beef tongue, beef, and pork jowl. Of the skewers, my favorite was definitely the beef tongue. This is a good place to eat food, drink, and hang out with family and friends. There are "rooms" for bigger groups as well, which I thought was cool.

Definitely my favorite go to spot for skewers! Absolutely delicious! It's fun, service is pretty good, and the prices are decent. I always recommend this place when friends ask me where to eat skewers. We always get the beef skewers, pork belly,beef tongue, Dan Dan noodles, and the gizzard dish. Also the grilled oysters are absolutely delicious! Can't wait to come back again. Parking: plenty the plaza also has a lot of other places to eat and explore
