Stopped in during a weekday lunch and it wasn't too busy. We got seated right away, but the server took a little bit to take our orders. We each got Frito pies and I posted pics of what the small and large would look like. Their style of chili is interesting - as they boast of Texas style chili = no beans. But the interesting part was that there were very large beef chunks in the chili, which was really filling The restaurant isn't the fanciest, but I'd consider it maybe on the side of divey. Either way not a bad spot if you wanted to check out different kind of chili!

Damn anyone who doesn't love this Place does not fit the vibe check. Classic rock, dudes at the bar drinking their mad dog margaritas. Some authentic old school Austin here plus very good and wide Chili selections in size and accompaniments. The Habanero beef and beans was lit. Has a hatch chili cheeseburger cooked perfectly. Guy Clark was on the money.

An absolute classic! An Austin institution that's an old-timey TX dive bar that also happens to serve excellent chili. The original bowl o' red is the best but some of the others are tasty and unique (venison, pork & white bean, etc.).

This basically is a dive bar but it is the best!!! Service was quick and attentive, My husband and I had a couple of froz Marguerite's delicious ! My husband had a bacon cheeseburger which was hugh ! He had a sampler chili , ate every bite I had the wagyu cheeseburger - also Hugh and perfectly cooked Everything was great !!! And cheap !!! 4 margaritas with grand marnier floaters and the food and 20 dollar tip came to 100 Yummy

I have some very mixed feelings about this place. When you walk in, it has a complete dive bar feel to it. The person greeting you is great and welcoming. Does not have a lot of sunlight in it. The food on one hand was slightly bland. I had to use some salt on it to bring some flavor to it. But they have hatch green chili. Our server was amazing. He had our food out in no time. I would definitely try this place again. They have a great menu, and I would like to try more to see if everything taste the same. Let's see what the next time brings!

Now this is a cool spot. It's old school so be prepared to not be impressed about the ambience. Fast and prompt service. Stopped for drinks and a 'taster' of chili. Very tender meat and authentic Texas chili. A bit pricey though. Two beers, two shots of tequila and a taster of chili was $50.
